Europe, and more specifically the European Union, is one of the poles of the US, EU and Japan poles that centralize 70% of the wealth for 14% of the population. The European Union is the second economic power in the world and it is the core element of this continent. If Europe is the wealthiest and most developed region of the world, it is not a homogeneous space. Indeed, all the European countries are not equally developed.
Ukraine and Moldova are indeed exception and they are categorized as countries with high development index (the rest of Europe is defined by a very high development index).
Western Europe and northern Europe are very wealthy in contrast with some more poor regions of central and eastern Europe or some countries of southern Europe.
The European megalopolis is the economical heart of Europe. We can also distinguish the countries of the former western bloc, more developed and with a low grow rate, from the countries of the former eastern bloc, less developed, but with a higher grow rate.
