Europe is a part of the Eurasian plate, but it is traditionally considered as one of the seven continents. Europe is the sixth biggest continent by area and the third by population. Despite its small size, Europe is the second most densely populated continent after Asia. The core region of this continent is the European Union, which is the second economic power in the world. If Europe is the wealthiest and developed region of the world, it is however not homogeneous between countries.
